We are excited to welcome back our returning students and families, and look forward to meeting our new students and families for the 2025-2026 school year.   

Cedarbrae staff returned to school today and are preparing to meet our amazing students on Tuesday September 2, 2025.

Staffing Update 

We are pleased to welcome Ms. Rachel Loach as our kindergarten and resource teacher. Rachel was a teacher in the Hull STAR program last year, and we are thrilled to “officially” welcome her to the Cedarbrae staff team.   

We would like to also extend a warm Cedarbrae welcome to Ms. Allehea Bowen(teacher) and Ms. Megan Beeler (counsellor) to our Hull STAR classroom. 

Important Dates 

We follow the CBE instructional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, early dismissal days and events, please see our Cedarbrae calendar page.  School specific activities and key dates will also be included in the weekly message from administration and teachers.  

Teacher Communication 

By noon on Friday August 29, you will receive an introductory email from your child's teacher including information about their entry and exit doors and the meeting spot on the first day of school.  

Our first day of classes is Tuesday, September 2, 2025.  If your child will be going home for lunch, please send a note to the teacher.

School Supplies 

Student supplies are included in the student fees posted on your MyCBE account. Caregivers are not required to purchase any school supplies for students.  

Students should bring: 

Students are required to bring a backpack, lunch kit, water bottle and indoor shoes. 

Lunch Supervision 

For students in Grade 1-6, lunch supervision is available for a fee.  You can register and pay online for lunch supervision with MyCBE

Save the Date 

Our meet the teacher night and school BBQ will be held on Thursday September, 11 from 5:30 – 7:00. More details to follow.  

School Communication 

Classroom teachers will send specific information related to their classroom in a weekly message every Friday to families.  Administration will also send weekly messages with updates, celebrations, and information about school-wide events.

Parents / Legal Guardians who have not already done so must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to: 

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card) 
  • pay fees and request waivers 
  • register for transportation and lunch supervision 
  • book parent-teacher conferences 
  • submit online school forms (required for 2025-2026 school year)

Fees and Waivers 

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe
