Weekly Message Nov. 20-24 | Winter Celebration, Fundraiser, Casino Volunteers Needed, Cedarbrae Merchandise, Fun Lunches, Bus Changes
Hello Cedarbrae Families,
It was a short, wonderful, and warm week with students last week!
We were excited to welcome a new staff member to the Cedarbrae team this week! Mrs. Marissa Erven is our Indigenous Student Success Learning Leader and will be working at Cedarbrae School for the remainder of the year. Mrs. Erven was in the classrooms last week meeting students and staff and is excited to work directly with many of our students over the course of the year to support their success and growth.
Winter Celebration
We are excited to be hosting a Winter Celebration on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 20 for all families from grades K-6. Mrs. Goodridge has been working with students to prepare this celebration and students are very eager to have the opportunity to perform for caregivers. Please stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
Mixing Spoon Fundraiser
Back by popular demand! The Mixing Spoon is a fundraising company providing brownie, soup, chili, cookie, muffin and scone mixes. These products are pre-packaged dry-mixes.
Only $11 each! These make an excellent gift or can be helpful to add a little convenience to your own cupboard! Order forms are due no later than Friday, December 1st.
The Mixing Spoon brochures will be sent home with students this week.
Urgent!! Casino Volunteers Needed
Our School Council is instrumental in helping provide extracurricular activities and resources at Cedarbrae School for all students!
They are currently in urgent need of more volunteers to fill spots at the upcoming casino this week. These casinos bring significant funding to support our school and are a great way to support our wonderful school community. Food is provided for all volunteers throughout the volunteer shift.
Please follow this link below to see the shifts available and sign up as soon as possible. Your support is greatly appreciated by us all ????

If we are unable to fill ALL the shifts we risk losing the casino, and will not be eligible for another casino for 2 years. The casino brings in over $60 000 which is essential to give our students opportunities, and subside the cost of these activities for caregivers. Each shift you volunteer for brings in over $1 500 to the school.
Cedarbrae Clothing / Merchandise Store
Cedarbrae School has lauched a new Online Store where you can purchase clothing and other merchandise with our school logo. All items will be delivered to the school. If you are considering purchasing items as Christmas gifts, the last day to order to ensure delivery before Winter Break is December 8.
Here is the link to the online store:

Bus Zone Changes
Due to a recent traffic review by the city of Calgary the bus, pick-up, and drop-off zones in front of Cedarbrae School are being rezoned by the city of Calgary and CBE transportation. This change aligns with current traffic laws in the city and supports student safety. In addition to this, there are more buses expected at Cedarbrae school next year as a result of the new transportation guidelines set by Alberta Education and we anticipate needing room for one more bus. In the next couple of weeks, the city will be replacing the signage outside the school and once the new signs are in place the new zoning will be in place. As a school community, we want to make sure you are informed of this change in advance and appreciate your support as we adjust to the new zoning. School staff will be present to support with this and look forward to the continued safety for our students during the busy pick-up and drop of time.
