Dear Cedarbrae Families
As we embark on the final week of the school year, we would like to express our appreciation to all our wonderful students, families, and staff members. It has been a wonderful year, and we truly value our wonderful school community!
We will be bidding farewell to some staff members embarking on new adventures in the coming year. We are still in the process of finishing staffing for the 2024 –2025 school year, and will be saying farewell to Ms. Cairns and Ms. Leith who have both made amazing contributions to our Cedarbrae School community. We wish you both the best in all your future endeavors. For the upcoming school year, we would like to welcome Ms. Larsen as our new Bridges teacher next year. Mrs. Ferguson will be continuing at Cedarbrae school as one of our grade 4/5 teachers and we would like to thank her for all her amazing work and support over the past two years!
Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation
In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, and in alignment with the CBE Education Plan, Cedarbrae School acknowledges and supports the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action, and makes the following commitment to action for the 2024-2025 school year:
We will utilize Indigenous knowledges, languages, and teaching methods in our classrooms.
We will do so by:
- Applying learning that includes inviting Indigenous community members to share knowledge with students and staff
- Identifying places across curriculum where Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing, and knowing can be weaved in
- Engaging students and staff in learning tasks that intentionally activate the spirit, heart, body, and mind
