We are so thankful for our amazing students, families, staff, and this caring learning community. We know the upcoming strike brings uncertainty for many of you, and we truly appreciate the kindness and understanding you have shown during this time—and always. Cedarbrae is a strong and supportive community, and we are so proud to be part of it.
Communication During the Strike
Please note that during the strike, teachers and school administration will not have access to their CBE email accounts.
The Calgary Board of Education will share updates on the CBE Labour Action page as soon as new information becomes available. You can also follow local media for the most up-to-date information.
Fees
Families who have paid fees for field trips or other school-based activities that may be cancelled will see adjustments for any services not delivered.
Financial Resources for Families
The Alberta Government has made financial supports available to families during this time. Eligible parents can access these funds by creating an account online.
Learning Toolkits
Alberta Education and Childcare has developed free Learning Toolkits to support your child’s independent learning during school closures. These toolkits provide weekly, curriculum-aligned resources for Kindergarten to Grade 12, available in English, French, and French Immersion.
The first two weeks of materials are now available, with additional weeks to be added as needed. You can download the toolkits at new.learnalberta.ca.
Message from CBE – Cancellation of Activities
The Calgary Board of Education has directed all schools to cancel scheduled in-school and off-site activities with external partners from October 6–31, 2025. While the labour action may be resolved sooner, this ensures that schools can focus fully on the resumption of learning once teachers return.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we make Cedarbrae such a special place for our students to learn and grow.
