Dear Cedarbrae Families 

We hope everyone is enjoying the Family Day long weekend despite the chilly weather. Last week students shared acts of kindness and valentines with their classmates on Wednesday leading up to Valentines Day. In February our school focuses on the grounding rock loving heart. Classes have been learning about what it means to have a heart filled with kindness and how to be a good friend. Classes will be completing some dedicated work on this subject as we prepare to attend the Hitman BeBrave game on Wednesday February 26 for Pink Shirt Day. All students will be given a pink shirt on that day to wear to the game. We look forward to attending this event to showcase our amazing school community. 

A reminder that our Little Ceasars fundraiser is well under way and orders are due to the school no later than Friday February 21.

Free Parenting Resource at Cedarbrae School 

Hull Services will be hosting a free CPEP parenting course for all interested parents, and/or caregiver AND their children aged 5-12 at Cedarbrae School for 8 weeks beginning on Thursday April 10, 2025. The course focuses on parenting skills and a children’s social skills group. The children’s group will focus on social skills such as how to listen, how to accept no/disappointment, how to express feelings and how to deal with being angry/frustrated. 

The topics discussed in the parent group are: 

  • Relationship Building and Positive Behaviour 
  • Reducing Conflict and Managing Transitions Successfully 
  • Special Incentives and Collaborative Planning 
  • Effective Consequences and Problem Solving Strategies

Attendance 

Please inform the school if your child will be absent or arriving late. Please report all absences to the Attendance Line at 403-777-8610. Please be sure to leave your child’s name, homeroom, and reason for absence on each message.
